I was sitting with my pals and suddenly the conversation landed to Twitter. They just did not get it, and they are certainly not the first ones to tell me that. Specifically, my pals didn’t have the idea of the massive valuation that Twitter brings to each day. I explained them why I think Twitter is more than a search engine.
I told them social media site like Twitter is an assortment of emotional grunts. But, it is effective nonetheless. Millions of users are hooked on it and it has reached critical mass. It enables a fabulous way to meet people in your industry, and in your community. I also told them that some of my long-time Twitter friends are people whom I have never met, or only just met recently. And, they have been helpful with their valuable feedback and recommendations when I asked them about my specific business projects.
I educated my pals more about Twitter that there are literally hundreds of small and large brands already doing amazing, creative things with this new platform. Just as more and more people are getting familiar to Twitter. They are also starting their own blogs, leaving reviews, and just generally spreading about their business around the Internet.
It’s true that if something big is happening in the world, you can have that information from Twitter. Within the past few months, it has gained relevant tweets in addition to search ads. The changes are as much a revolution as when web search engines increased their relevancy and integrated search ads a decade ago.
Twitter has also started extracting other vital information, like people’s experiences with products and services as they interact openly with them. Many are starting to use Twitter as promoting their brands in real time. That’s interesting stuff. Also, by creating regularly updated content, you will significantly increase your chances for being shown. Simple wall posts with keywords or branded events will give you extra visibility in the new real time.
With the growth of Twitter Search, suggests that Twitter is moving into a different realm, somewhere between social networking and search, and perhaps bringing together the best of both worlds. In totality, it is extremely valuable. And someone says, it is not clear that anyone else can compete with Twitter at this point of moment.
If you think Twitter is useless, I recommend reading this blog out. You will find many interesting things to love Twitter.
